One of the major challenges which will face ICCCWCWI2007 Inc. and its management of the Cricket World Cup 2007, will be the logistical issue of moving hundreds of people, but according to Managing Director and CEO of ICCCWCWI2007 Inc. Chris Dehring, steps and intricate planning are in the works to ensure that the movement of people across the region for the event is as easy as possible.

That contention was made during a presentation which was part of the Counterpart International Caribbean Media Exchange Workshop on Sustainable Tourism (CMExPress) which was held at the Sandals Resort in Antigua earlier this week.

Dehring, in that presentation, announced that one of the objectives in organising the event was to utilise the expertise within the region, in the attempt to ensure that the event is managed successfully. He also took the opportunity to announce that an official tour partner for the event had been selected.

The official tour partner is a company called Cricket Logistics 2007. That company was selected after a global search and a public tender process.

"There are a consortia of Gulliver and Hospitality partnership, who will be handling the hospitality side. They in turn will be appointing many official travel agents," he added. He also stressed that the official partner will no doubt have to draw on the talents of regional agents to get the job of transporting people around the region, in a short space of time.

"Again, nobody but the official tour partner and their official travel agents, will be able to sell official tour packages to the Cricket World Cup, outside of the official partner. That is globally - this is global event being staged in the Caribbean. Everything that we do impacts on the global market and every plan that we have must take into account, these global issues," he added.

Dehring also stated that the official brand launch of the logo, mascot and other things associated with the 2007 event will take place on July 19, in Trinidad, when the match schedule for the event should also be announced.
"Our brand launch will take place on July 19, in Trinidad.  At that point, I think that the Cricket World Cup really becomes alive for most of us, because you really get a feel of the International brand which is owned by the ICC and which we will roll out with the ICC in a global brand programme which will target the entire world to not just come to our shores but to buy every product of the Caribbean," he added.
